Inch by inch.
The older one gets, the more is taken, or given away to keep peace in the family. To lose one's dignity, whether intended or not moves the Senior to give up even trying to maintain dignity. Hopelessness appears to be the next step. Life seems to get sadder and sadder............marge

I'm set for the Holidays!
Just got a resupply of Potato Salad (must add mustard) and a big container of Gen. Tso's chicken! What more could one want? Oh yes, coffee! And mini ice cream cones which I'm not supposed to binge on! Sigh...........marge

But not on a street corner after dark...
In the Dr.s office, in an empty waiting room except for one lonely person, lovely ladies at a dining table in the senior home, give us so many opportunities. I love speaking to all of them and I have gotten so many wonderful replies! Not one has scowled and told me to go away. I encourage you if it doesn't make you uncomfortable, try it. The rewards are innumerable.................marge

Seniors can be irritated children.
And because of their sizes, that can lead to serious injuries. At the dinner table tonight that danger was brought close to home. Two sports fans, liking different teams, both believing they were in the right, came close to blows. They grasped fists across the table and pulled. these tables must weigh 200 lbs. and it, for a second, was lifted off of the floor on one side. I cussed the nearest one, got up and was invited to sit at a nearby table that has an empty seat. Selfishly thinking of myself, you are taking the joy out of eating in the large dining room. If I don't go there, I will miss all the wonderful residents with whom I get to chat. Yes. Aging does have its ups and downs I'm sorry to say. May tomorrow be better..................marge

Maybe keep a spoon in your pocket.
There's no bruise on my side to confirm I fell but trust me I did cause it hurts! I was letting the other ladies at their dinner table chat with my oversized pink gorilla. I call him 'George'. I turned to fast to leave and tripped over my walker, with George in it. I always try to fall softly, with no stiff arms. Actually, there's not time to stiffen them! Anyway, the point of this story is to NOT and I repeat NOT be holding a ripe banana in your downside hand. The first half you eat with a spoon and the second half just normally................marge PS. Maybe the spoon in a pocket you WON"T fall on..............marge
