Again, at least one local news channel has chosen to remind the public that a terrible assault was committed, not by a real family member, according to them,  but an adopted family member.  What is your point??  An adopted child is not really yours?  People shouldn't adopt children because 'adopted' children are more apt to commit a violent crime?  Not giving actual birth to the child that is yours has absolutely no bearing on anything and should not be included in any story!  I truly believe you hurt so many good people by your thoughtless assessment of 'family'.........marge

Seriously.

I know where it goes and could do it in the dark. So why do I step in front of the mirror to apply deodorant? I may have mentioned it before but most of the people eating cereal in TV commercials seem to be left handed. Should be only 10%. Finally. I watch just a FEW soaps. They do a lot of crying in the 'soaps'. Have you yet to see anyone blowing their nose or wiping their eyes with a Kleenix, hanky or anything? I take that back. I do believe I've seen them use the back of their hand..........marge

Sports and more sports

I would have realized sooner had I been more observant. It is now painfully obvious that many football and hockey players are less mature than other sports figures. If one looks closely, most, if not all, have pacifiers in their mouths. Oh I'm sure they're not called by that name......but look for yourselves, you'll see.......marge

Winners, or, less losers........

I confess to not being knowledgable about major events such as The World Series, Super Bowl and Primary Delegates Conventions. The intrinsic aspects pretty much escape me. I am only left with these thoughts. Its not who wins the most. Its who loses the least. Thus enters Mitt Romney into my quandry. Congratulations on being ahead. Oh wait, make that, Congratulations on not being the most behind!..........marge

Men's professional sports vs breast feeding.

It is by some, unacceptable for a woman to discreetly breast feed her child outside the confines of her home. It appears however, acceptable for a ball player to intentionally slam into a catcher or second base player while trying to reach the plate or stop a double play. It also appears acceptable for a hockey play of considerable size and weight, to INTENTIONALLY body check with full force, an opposing skater into the sideboards. Don't even ask about football players and the cheap and dangerous shots THEY knowingly take. So tell me again why her behavior is less acceptable than all those 'wonderful' sports figures?........marge

Remembering........

I had a friend, long since dead, who left an indelible mark on my life. Two memories stand out. The first. She cradled our Spina Bifida, hydrocephalic baby in her forearms and gently told him how beautiful he was. Secondly. I and two of my children came down with the chicken pox at the same time. She took my eight month old home to care for her without a seconds hesitation. Some time later, I told her how grateful I was. She looked at me in astonishment and said, "You don't know how honored I was you asked me!" Her name was Audrey Clapham. Never to be forgotten. Remembered with the greatest of love..........marge
