Summer Olympics. Lost its 'honor' this week. 2016

An honor to participate.  Dishonorable to use less than expected means to win.  That young lady won a 'dry' diving finish, but she didn't didn't win the 'running race' and it was a running race.  The other, 'real' runner, should receive a gold medal, not the 'diver'..................marge PS.  And now, a short while later. several male Olympians tried to cover  up their shameful behavior by lying to the Rio police and the world's news people.  I have always blindly believed that being an Olympian participate was an honor few ever knew.  The 'honor' now, seems to be disappearing...........................marge

So you want to be a Police Officer.

The way things are going, no young person with any sense would want to become a police officer.  But these young people are driven by their good hearts.  Police cars  and business (not to mention lives) are destroyed and why?  Because a person with a gun, pointing it at an officer wouldn't put it down after being told to do so.  This gives the officer every right to take the next step or lose his life.  These people who are threats to society, are now looked upon as the 'victims'.  What is SO wrong with this picture?....................marge

Double edged sword

I'm sure Marijuana does some good for some people but that must be weighed against the harm it can cause.  To calm and ease the pain of an individual is good.  On the other hand, What happens when you take it away from someone who uses it to calm themselves and soften their anger?  It seems everyone may be between an rock and a hard place with this dilemma.  Maybe we should let Drs. decide who gets it and for what purpose, not a storekeeper.  And we haven't even addressed those who indulge and then get behind the wheel of a car or something equally dangerous.............marge


 

Donald Trump? You've got to be kidding.

I don't know where to begin.  There are so many pieces of mouthy Trump floating around but that's only part of the problem.  Each day, each story he spouts is altered  a little.  What comes out, on a daily changing basis, is how he adjusts the statements to always make himself appear better.  How long before the intelligent people of the US will realize this.  I'm assuming you all have brains, but why aren't you using them?  These people would probably pay top dollar for swamp land if Trump told them to buy it.  Really.  I believe they would!  He's a biased prejudiced bully.  Not just against different nationalities but gender also.  Wake up you voters.  Take some deep breaths and let that brain out to really and reasonably work.  It won't hurt.  I promise.......................PS.  If the TV networks would stop putting his every word on camera (aka stop feeding him). perhaps he would implode or shrivel up and blow away............................marge

He never met a man he didn't like BUT

Will Rogers, famous Humorist, commentator, plus much more who died too early in his life and career, might think twice or more, if he ran into Donald Trump.  Every perfect rule I'm told, needs one exception.  Donald Trump would have been his exception.  Everyone should get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their personality but maybe one exception also applies here.  Three minutes or less being in the same room with Trump should do it.  Can one be narcissistic, have the tendencies of a sociopath and run for President of the United States?  You Betcha, to borrow a phrase.  Sorry.  I couldn't help myself.  If you are even considering a vote for Trump, please, stop and call a mental health line.  They will do their best to help you and also keep our Country safe.  I kid you not..............................marge

I hate your hair.

I watch a lot of baseball, football and some hockey.  Not a lot of the other sports.  If I could, I would sneak into these player's locker rooms with scissors and electric razor in hand.  I've about reached my breaking point.  This stubble crap sexy?  No.  Old time hunters used to come out of the woods after a few days looking like that and that's what you remind me of.  Then there's the really curly, longer hair sticking out from their caps and almost making the hats pop off.  These are followed by a couple more complaints.  Wavy hair past the shoulders getting in the way of seeing what you're doing.  Now for the (to be polite, I'll call them beards).  I'm amazed you don't show up ready to play with food of assorted colors mixed in the hair.  I'm waiting and I do expect it to happen, for a small bird or similar in size animal to pop its head out as the game begins.  I haven't figured out why you're doing this as yet.  Do you think you're sexy or attractive?  Think again.  Is it a form of rebellion? probably not.  Maybe then, just maybe, because it's too much trouble  to go to a hairdresser or barber.  If you're a pro player, it's certainly not the cost.  You'll have to help me  on this one.  I'm lost for answers......................marge  PS.  I did enjoy Mark the Bird Fidrych of many years ago but he's the only exception.

Black men dying. Now white officers dying also.

I don't even pretend to understand what has been happening these recent weeks.  There are right now, not facts being shown, just pictures of these men being shot to death.  Horrible horrible horrible.  I can't help but I can empathize in bewilderment with their loved ones.  I feel, through fear, by all, irrational emotions are taking over.  Is generalized panic setting in?  The madness just keeps getting more and more frequent.  Outrage is to be expected but it alone won't stop these incomprehensible happenings.  There is a better way.  We must find it.  Now....................marge   PS.  And now, a few hours later, white officers, in the line of duty, to protect all are openly ambushed and murdered.  There is no justification for these killings.  All of these deaths should not have happened.  Because of  misguided or (warped) souls, in or out of any uniform, we may find ourselves with fewer people who want to sign on to serve and defend.  Then where will we be?  NRA vigilante groups running our towns and streets?  Think long and hard.............again....marge
