Independence Village of Plymouth, Mi.
The staff and all that work here are fantastic and I want them to know how appreciative I am. Always a smile and more than likely a hello with it! The amazing part, everyone knows my first name! Rest assured I'm not the only one who feels this way. I thank all of you!.............marge

Sometimes.
Sometimes I repeat myself. I can't always remember what I wrote about several years ago. So, please forgive me. I'm going to assume it's all the fantastic information in my head flooding out, or, and this can't possibly be true, I'm a Senior!...........marge
Ask a football player.
If you are older like I am I have a bit of advice. Watch several football games and concentrate on the guy with the ball or the tackler who misses him. Pay attention to how they all 'roll' as they are going down. They don't stick out their arms to catch themselves. They simply fall and when possible roll. I swear by this. Once I managed to fall out of the car even as I was planning to get out in the normal way but didn't! No, I can't explain what happened. I was as surprised as the person who was opening my door! Go down as softly as you can. Turn yourself into a crumbling heap. It really does work!...........marge

Residents of Retirement homes.
Sadly, outsiders seem to assume that we all need their input to be happy. We don't. If I'm slow at ordering off of the menu, that's ok. If we want your help in getting into the dining room chair, please wait until we ask for it. I know that is hard because I've been guilty of being 'too helpful'. Don't show up once or twice a week with plans to make our lives better. We know where we're at and if we want your input. Please remember though, we know you love us and our only wish is that you don't try so hard. Just come and be a good friend or relative, no more...............marge
